About 50 people joined us for for our Fosseway guided walk, a joint venture with Lichfield Discovered and Lichfield Waterworks Trust. The promised yellow weather warning faded away and the sun actually came out. Begining from the Sandfields Pumping Station with a short tour by David Moore we were then led by Peter Buck along the original route of the canal up to Fosseway Heath Nature Reserve, then on along to Lock 18, the first part of the canal to be restored. Then it was back along Fosseway Lane to the new route of the canal alongside Falkland Road and down to the point where a tunnel needs to go under the railway in 2019. Thanks to everyone who helped make this possible.

Aileen Salter, Patsy Wilson and Christine Bull had a happy couple of hours, in the strong wind, outside TSB Lichfield on a rowing machine, loaned by one of the branch's lovely staff.... TSB staff used quiet times over the last 2 weeks to attempt to row the equivalent of the 7 miles of the Lichfield Canal. They covered 6 of them and collected some money for us, but what really matters is the partnership we've enjoyed from being TSB Lichfield's Charity Partner this last year - AND they're continuing that in the coming year. From this year's partnership we've received over £200 AND support for our Carol Singing in 2017 (mince pies) AND the receipt of 2 pick axes, 8 garden forks, 15 spades/shovels, 5 rakes and various other tools from the branch's notice asking for donated garden tools. They've also sold some calenders and distributed information for us.So, we septuagenarian 3 "Lichfield Canal Ladies" decided to finish the 7 miles, and do some more publicity. We each did 2x10minute slots, and so easily covered the last mile.
